Our Teachers

Venerable Zhenjue

Bodhisattva Nature Foundation is a registered non-profit organization initiated by Venerable Zhenjue.

Venerable Zhenjue learnt from Venerable Master Renze. The teaching is integrated in the practice of Tibetan Buddhism and Chinese Buddhism on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment.

After several years of Buddhism practice, Venerable Zhenjue realized that disasters, diseases, the chaotic world and all kinds of sufferings are all caused by wrong concepts and ignorance of the truth.

The strong compassion drives Venerable Zhenjue to pass on wisdom and the way to know the truth to more people.

Venerable Houshun
Venerable Houshun, having received ordination under the guidance of Ven. Renze, made the courageous decision to move to the United States in order to practice and share the profound teachings of the Dharma for the benefit of all sentient beings.

From a young age, Venerable Houshun possessed a deep fascination with the mysteries of the universe. As he grew older, his thirst for understanding the truth of life only intensified. This led him to pursue a major in science and engineering during his university studies.

Through his spiritual journey, Venerable Houshun was blessed to discover the truth he had been seeking throughout his entire life. Driven by a genuine desire to help others, he dedicates himself to sharing this truth with everyone he encounters. His aspiration is for all beings to have the opportunity to learn and practice the Dharma, ultimately attaining the profound knowledge of truth themselves.

Our Mission

Oneness • Peace

For thousands of years, innumerable sages have reminded us again and again that no one is completely isolated, and we are closely related to each other. Sufism poet Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Rūmī has a profound saying: ‘You are not a drop in the ocean, you are the entire ocean, in a drop.’ Discussion of the Equality of Things in The Book of Chuang Tzu mentioned ‘Heaven and earth and I are born together; the myriad things and I are one. ’

People from different countries, races, and with different skin colors are like hands and feet. We should cooperate and support each other, not compete with each other.
Every single life is extremely precious. However, we can still see countless people living in the shadow of fear because of regional conflicts. We truly hope for peace, and continuously sending out peaceful prayers and energy to the world in our daily meditation practice. All Bodhisattva Nature Foundation projects are based on the core of peace.

Environment • Balance

If we want the world to be harmonious, then at least there should be human beings who have correspondent merits to enjoy the harmonious world. However, the increasingly harsh environment has already revealed to us the difficulties of human survival in the future.
No one can be independent out of the environment.
People were still living in the beautiful mountains and rivers 2500 years ago, and Buddha had already made a precept for monks: monks should not cut off trees, plants, or even a piece of grass, monks cannot cultivate land. There are even precepts on saving water, etc.
Buddha saw that the environment is an important condition for happiness and peace of all sentient beings.
Protecting the environment is also a kind of compassion. In other words, a compassionate person will certainly protect the environment because that is an essential condition for sentient beings’ reproduction(generation) and development.
Buddha taught us to respect life and nature so that one can live in harmony with each other , and realize the connection of everything.

We must treat nature more open-minded and abandon the desire of possession, then we can truly enjoy the beauty of nature. The world is now in a very unstable stage, encompassing birth, death, fear, the law of the jungle, and many other sufferings that are still going on.
However, these are not unchangeable. When we return to simplicity, enjoy peace, and cherish everything, the energy cycle of the world, from trees to climate, from soil to animals, will affect and change each other. A good ecological balance helps to awaken the mind and purify the heart.

Enlightenment • Truth

Buddhism is truth itself. Buddha is not a deity since it means “an enlightened one”. Anyone who has achieved enlightenment may attain Buddhahood, whoever he or she is. Buddhism is not an exclusive religion. It helps us gain insight into the world’s true nature and rescues us from suffering with a path to enlightenment. Whatever you do, so long as you are learning the truth, it is in accordance with Buddhism, no matter what is revealed or how it is revealed.
Over three thousand years ago, Buddha found a way to tame the mind. A wise, gentle and peaceful mind is like a bright mirror which never changes with reflections revealed. Your mind stays sharp in absolute peace, in learning the truth, when carefree and stress-free as a scientist observing the nature.
