Four Noble Truths

Four Noble Truths

The truth of suffering: The Buddha explained birth is suffering; aging is suffering; sickness is suffering; death is suffering; separation from the loved is suffering; association with unloved is suffering; not getting what is liked is suffering; sorrow, pain and lamentation is suffering; and five-aggregates-afflicted by clinging;

The truth of the cause of suffering: Craving is the origin of the suffering. In other words, the lust, passion, hunger, and thirst for forms, feelings, perceptions, volitional formations and consciousness is the source of suffering;

The truth of the end of suffering: Remnant-free, residue-free absolute cessation of, ending of, termination of that craving for forms, feelings, perceptions, volitional formations and consciousness is the cessation of suffering;

The truth of the path that leads to the end of suffering: The only path that leads to the absolute elimination of craving for forms, feelings, perceptions, volitional formations and consciousness is the “Noble Eightfold Path”.

The Three Types Of Suffering

The Three Types Of Suffering

“The truth of ‘all conditioned things are suffering’ is one of the Four Seals of Buddhism. The Buddha taught us that life is inherently marked by suffering, devoid of any true happiness. However, when we indulge in satisfying our desires, we clearly experience happiness. Did the Buddha make a mistake then? Let’s explore together the true meaning of ‘suffering’ as taught by the Buddha.”

Buddhist Astronomy

Since ancient times, humanity has been exploring the mysteries of the universe, life and death, and the nature of time and space. However, due to the limitations of human cognition, the vast majority of people have only a superficial and incomplete understanding of these questions. After attaining enlightenment, Shakyamuni Buddha realized all truths of life and imparted them to his disciples. Let us delve into the worldview of Buddhist wisdom together.

All Conditioned Things Are Impermanent

All Conditioned Things Are Impermanent

Gautama Buddha once said: “Among all footprints, the footprint of the elephant is the most distinguished; among all perspectives, the perspective of impermanence is the most distinguished.”

Why are the footprints of the elephant the most distinguished? Because elephants do not choose dangerous paths, only safe ones. Following the footprint of an elephant ensures a safe arrival at the destination.

And why is the perspective of impermanence the most distinguished? Because understanding impermanence gives us the motivation to strive. When we are lazy, contemplating the impermanence of life and all things in the world inspires us and ignites a strong desire for self-improvement.

The Law Of Cause And Effect

The Law Of Cause And Effect

We know that humans have free will, yet humans don’t understand the truth and reality of the universe and life. Consequently, their free will tends to act ignorantly, which is blind action. The inertial energy produced by the action of free will is called karma. As free will is constantly acting, karma is accumulated and karmic habits are formed. When karmic habits act back on free will, it is also known as inertial force or simply karmic force.

The law of karma, also known as the law of cause and effect or the law of dependent arising, encompasses five aspects. Let’s explore the secrets of cause and effect through the following video.

The Mirror Of Causality

The Mirror Of Causality

Nagarjuna said: “Without the right view of causality, sentient beings will fall into the lower realms of suffering.”
The Buddha said, “Even for a hundred thousand eons, the karma that one has accumulated won’t disappear. When the causes and conditions gather, one will experience the karmic result.”
The Exalted One said, “Fortune and misery don’t come through gates, but are caused by oneself. The consequence of good and evil follows each person like a shadow.”
The Ten Wings says, “A family that accumulates virtues will have surplus fortunes, and a family that accumulates vices will have surplus misery.”
The Sixth Patriarch said, “All fortunes and misfortunes arise from the mind. Look inward and you will understand everything.”
Look at the vast universe that we rely on for survival: countless planets, mountains, rivers, lakes, and seas, as well as countless animals and plants, are all constantly pulsating at their rhythms.
Day and night alternate, the seasons change, the sun and the moon revolve, and life reproduces…
Who is it that rules the universe and propels everything to constantly move?
